Leke Folaranmi (Jazzy Doc) was born on the 25th of March 1981 to the family of Late Rev/Dr and Mrs James Olatoso Folaranmi. He developed an interest for music at about the age of 12 years due to his consistent exposure to church music. He has University degrees in Microbiology, Medicine and Surgery. Currently he is a registered medical doctor doing his postgraduate training in the field of Anatomic pathology. He is a self tutored musician whose musical career(learning and performing) started in his childhood (his 1st instrument was a toy xylophone). He is passionate about good and Godly music and his favourite instrument is the guitar. His interests are in the genre of Rock and Smooth Jazz, Pop, RnB and Traditional African Music. He also has ample exposure to the keyboards and bass. He is still actively playing and learning more about these instruments.
Dr Leke Folaranmi has been privileged to serve as a leader of a few choirs including Amazing Boys Choir(a country side band of talented young men), Chosen Generation Choir (First ECWA English Church). For the last one and a half decade he has been actively involved in various musical concerts, live recordings and studio sessions.
In remembrance of his father who passed away on 10th June 2015, he felt inspired by Nosa’s song ‘Always’ on my Mind’ and he decided to do a simplistic guitar cover to this effect.
